Follow My Lead

Follow My Lead

A Poem by Kachme
"

Surviving War.

"
I prefer to stand
even pain can't dull the hand
from reaching out and changing life
taking in, the raging tide.

Forever i will march
through fields of murder
robbed of girth and toil
everlasting footprints
built on guns and rovers.

Show me a path
where righteousness will last
crude folly stains the broken grass
running over things that lasted minutes
now lay heaped and ruined in the past.

Unless i change my heart
and gird my spirit from the start
use my words and utter life into my bones
choose my destiny
reaching into the unknown

I let my mind escape
run like hell through this prison scape
break free of terrors left and right
careful not to trigger mines left from this fight
i run and don't surrender

Champion they say
i've only been blessed to see another day
scrapes and wounds cloaking my relief
Im set free from all the aches and grief
i am no winner

Just a survivor
adapting to all the chaos
breathing death without fear
remembering that life can be near
but not for me

No, i'm criminal to this crime
held by the fire in my heart
Vengeance spoke its utterance
and all thats left of all my greed,
i heard him say, "follow my lead"
