Our Story TimelineA Poem by CatExposition I see you from the crowd Maybe it was fate or maybe a coincidence Either way that's how our love story began Later on You tell me that I have given you an unfamiliar happiness You tell me that this is something you don’t mind In return I tell you that I will always be your home I tell you that you are my second chance Rising action Time begins to sanding down our edges the ones That used to only fit each others and now Home is an unfamiliar loneliness and this I do not like You said that you would show me the stars on nights past the city lights And over the clamor of San Francisco's concrete I look up to the sky And wonder where they went Climax And now every time we kiss I feel like i'm drowning and this time it's not in your love This time it’s in everything I've kept bottled up the things I couldn’t say the words I’ve been meaning to tell you I tell you That I have forgotten what constellations look like You tell me Maybe you need time And you leave me With a broken telescope that time cannot fix I no longer long to stargaze Falling action I thank you for showing me the stars I apologize for not loving astronomy And I give you back the telescope, the house key, and our promises Resolution I hoped that one day You will show me the stars once more and on that day I prayed that you’ll come back home But now I know I can love myself More than you ever could More than you ever did© 2017 Cat |
