Sometimes the people we meet are people our souls loved before we even knew

SOULMATE

With every word, phrase, line and verse,
I send to all the Beauties in the universe,
A message of gratitude and of a joyful farewell,
For my time of searching among you has ended well.

Stepping into this world of yours with this one goal;
To look in your midst and find a mate for my soul,
These eyes of mine were pleased at all these wonderful sights,
But my heart longed for her whose beauty was of uncomparable height.

They said her skin resembled that of a revered goddess,
For those who laid eyes on it thought themselves blessed.
All who beheld her beauty did not fail to tell,
That they were all too beastly to complement her belle.
I was told that her eyes had whole worlds in them,
And one may get lost staring in those gorgeous gems.
The tone in her voice with which she spoke,
Many confessed, the deadliest of sadness it always broke.

With only these images of her painted in my mind
I spent days praying that this perfect being, I would soon find.
And on that day, in that moment, when we locked eyes,
It was our first encounter but that felt like a lie,
For she smiled at me and I couldn't help but do same
Then she slowly uttered, "why does my soul know your name?"
