I came back to read more of yours but each time I selected a poem I found I had already reviewed it...
Perhaps you might enjoy one of mine like
TENDER or AWAKEN or even MILES APART...
Lisa, in rainy Spain
The end to what? The end of the earth? The end of human kind? The end of the space-time continuum? The earth survived the death of the dinosaurs. I'll bet it misses those lovely lizards compared to the parasites that inhabit its crust today. The first people once lived in harmony with nature. Then came civilization and labeled them all "savages" because they didn't believe in marketing real estate or prostituting their mother for a few extra dollars. Thus began the treachery of them versus us. But there is no them and us. There is only we and us as in, "If "we" don't learn to get along it will most certainly be the end of "us". Our time is almost done like that of the dinosaurs. Maybe the lizards can make a comeback. Who knows? I enjoyed the read.

The natives, the first people, the ancients, were so much more in touch with the cosmos, the earth and the natural harmony in life. There were some "religious" failings like human sacrifice by the Aztecs and other global cultures , animal sacrifice by the nomadic peoples, cannibalism by the islanders. But for the most part the "savages" were at least as "civilized" as their European counterparts. The "moral" superiority the pale skinned peoples claimed to have achieved doesn't hold up well under scrutiny.
We do change my friend. Life seem to run away from us.
"there was a time, when
connection was paramount
alas, the wires are crossed, now,
the phone line is always busy"
I understand the above lines. I miss many people that became lost to me. Thank you for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

'It MUST BE'
KWP,
Yes I find that things can be so final.
We have had death twice in our family in such a short time.
This two year period has given all of us lots of time to appreciate
what we have and if we have life....well.
I really like this poem as it gave
a place to feel my own personal thoughts and to think of what is real.
Great ending to this human story:
"the story ends, as does any story,
last page turned with
a deep inhale
you wonder, is this
really the end"
Or what may take it's place?
Bless you this Spring,
Kathy
Felt your lines deeply. Felt that distance becoming wider with the passing of time. Third stanza is so good. Is this really the end? Now that is a question we don't always want answered. Good to see you posting lovely KWP. Sending love across the waves.
Yours in one of the first posts 'I'v e reviewed for a while.. so much going on offline, So hope you are safe and sound.
As ever, your words, the way you write, clues to where and how you are slowly come to the surface. No idea and not asking whether this poem is fact, fiction, a combination or what.. but i gasped at the inferred isolation.. being left to a nothing that meant so much. Your second stanza seems be the core of sadness.. the ending.. a tragedy ' .. there was a time, when - connection was paramount - alas, the wires are crossed, now,.. '
If only one could stretch out hands and squeeze a sorry, here to you, there. Take care, keep safe.

Life is busy offline - this is a fact - so much happening in every which direction.
All is fine here - just allowing the moments to pass, and then when they don't pass, remembering to watch them pass.

I fell in love with your poetry. In this poem, I found a piece of my soul. I love poems that deal with difficult topics that are rather avoided on a daily basis. I wish you a lot of creative inspiration.

I will find right now and read Lisa - thank you for reading this one X
V2 L1&2 are killer for me ... i feel that chill wind and invite it to sweep away ... a kind of dispassionate cleansing ... seems most all stories these days come to a non-ending ending ... sequels come to mind first .. but lately I wonder if such open ended-ness is a lack of desire to bring closure for some painful reason or another .. i recognize the pic! you were there weren't you?! deep musings .. easy to follow the punctuation and line breaks breaks ...only thing better would be to hear you recite it ma'am! ;)))))))))))
