into compassion

into compassion

A Poem by KWP

remove the boundaries to

find true love

it’s above love, this love of which we talk

without borders we

find compassion

oh darling, I have walked the

sodden path, sometimes knee deep in mud

I have sunk to the depths dark,

wrestled with inertia

resisting the change

limply staring, adjusting

learning to observe thoughts instead of

swimming between each relived moment

beginning to live in this world of pain

sun rises, not for me

each day, rise, set, repeat, and

in this I have learned, the sun rises

not for me

in as far as the sun’s rays shine

let us swim, unbound and

cherish the lives

of all that is

Reading between the lines, I would say this one represents wisdom gained through grim experience. The second stanza attests to that. The last stanza makes the poem, distills the wisdom acquired into four lines. When we can embrace life without inner resistance, we will have done what we were meant to do in this passage.

The above lines. We must do often in a long life. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

(beginning to live in this world of pain sun rises, not for me ) Such sad words. I pray things are better for you now. Good writing! ~Sharon

I read this as the tough slog that is removing the boundaries between us and others, to put our selves in that place where we truly understand others rather than interpret. Yes, it would be a lovely swim.

the sojourner speaks and we hear you, KW! ;) such a conundrum, our lives, at times. We learn the most important things at the wrong end it seems ... better learned late than never I suppose .. we are blessed not for ourselves .. I think your wisdom is spot on in that .. your poem reflects the struggle it is for those who engage the honest search for truth ... and real love .. things we do not possess nor achieve but for honest souls .. pieces revealed perhaps .. in the end hmmmmmm we most certainly all will face. love your stuff as always .. thought filled and uplifting as ever ... i am so done with this covid fear .. i can't believe that every person on the planet has not been exposed by now ... its our time ... or it isn't .. the sun will soon be rising .. once again (its 4:45 AM my time) our hope is where we find it eh!? hugs bug!

Your writing is always o finely put.. beckons the eyes and mind to stay, dear E.. and I have. Read twice, but felt.. knew.. that,

' .. in as far as the sun’s rays shine - let us swim, unbound and cherish the lives - of all that is .. '

is the very core of your poem, logically emotional as is. To honour love: find agently shimmering iota - and you have discovered however little you have to give, you give it willingly, best you can. Show me the right plot and I will plant you the finest tree.

Beautiful poetry. Love is hard to find on it's own let alone when we put up boundaries, but at the same exact time we need to stay safe. Wonderful write. Tyfs

love through it all, rain or shine, love we find

Despite it all, let's make the most of what we have. That seems to be the message here. Never stop loving. Now that is a beautiful thought and certainly one we could all learn from. Thank you KWP, for your beautiful poetry.
