There is an ancient written oeuvre, "When the student is ready, a teacher will appear."
Still, even the most astute teacher must find a "teachable moment" if they are to successfully impart their treasures to another … this valuable lesson has been thoroughly imparted unto me over the years.
In my mind's-eye, the truly charming aspect flowing throughout this excellently penned Free Verse piece is that your teacher never realizes he is, and that you've yet to confide this to him … how beautiful a relationship is that between teacher and covert protege … I feel the most gentle hummm of mantra rising from the kindly essence of your words.
"it is all within you
we know this inherently
We just need to reduce the noise
let the silence prevail
allowing clarity to win the day
finally we can understand
the teacher has been there all along"
Dear Poetess, you have learned so very well … thank You for the lesson in gracious gratitude, delivered ever-so gently by the purest heart and skillful hand! ⁓ Richard 🍃

A lovely review and yes, still learning each and every day. The lessons keep drop drop dropping - I try and catch one or two.
I agree. We do need direction but we decide.

I agree with the above lines. We must know what we need and do it. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry and your thoughts.

You inevitably touch me with sanity, humour, frenzy, adventure or snatches of look and see. Here with those words you meet the lot and more. Walking quietly, feeling the unspoken, thinking without knowing it.. maybe. Need read a third time. Do know that this teacher straddles a world of experience and seems for me, incredibly generous. I wonder if Experience is the name of the teacher. dear E. and, perhaps ~ just perhaps, he, them, she, it, wear a coat of chosen colours and textures that becomes worn over time but remains durable.L ' . you .. who is the teacher the ~ universe has sent for me ..' Perhaps?

I was thinking about what I learn from a fried of mine - he has no clue wat he teaches me - it comes though from his own life and upbringing - I am just so in love with what we are able to learn from others when we allow ourselves.
Hope you are ding well chick - it's 38 degress here today and strong winds - deeeliteful :D

Your writing has always made me think, as your friend's has taught you. The more we read, the more we learn, even if we become subordinate to its intention. :) One day we'll have that glass of red and sit and laugh and wave at the thermals.. perhaps. In the interim take care, keep safe.
one of your best Elizabeth .. that's my opinion .. straight talk blended with the easy flow of a slow moving river ... the sun kissing its banks .. a walk about with your protagonist such a wondrous gift says i .. and bumping into you ... an old friend this wisdom .. a treasure and so very simple .. love love love this one .. i think its your best expression of the wisdom of "now" ;)

it was a moment in trying to understand the whirlwind of thought - self talk 101 I guess. My head has been to much caught up in it all lately - ugh.
The reminder that the human experience is pretty much suffering can be depressing - trying to look on the lighter side.
Apparently there is an eclipse coming - maybe that will stop things up a little.
Always a pleasure to hear from you :DD

This is one of my favorite poems of the past couple months. I love how conversationally you present this, it feels as if we're watching & also inside this back-and-forth, yet your message is so profound it feels like you're advancing epoch ideas here. We all need teachers of this very kind. We all teach each other along these very avenues. To be lost & exasperated & misguided is the human condition. There are a few noble standout teachers we might stumble across . . . but for the most part, we all fall apart & put ourselves back together at the same time, going along, trading positions as for who is leading who. The thing I love most about your poem are the details you use to paint how it can be when we don't let life get us down, when we work with the tough stuff in valuable ways. These are the things most people struggle with & these are hard lessons to incorporate regularly (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

ah, the lessons - lately I just keep on coming back to day 1 - day 1 - day 1 ...
There are those who teach us in the classroom, and those who teach is in the life outside...
the ones we listen to, watch, absorb...
and they influence us greatly in how we approach each day, each situation,
each love of another or love of self.
