Void

Void

A Poem by KWP

the void of where you once were,

immense

the cold wind whips and twists through the

crevasse of my heart

no-one visits anymore

the sun’s warmth always

envelops my face

closing my eyes to the sun to

make patterns in my eyelids

the memory of you

strong, like

the whiskey you drank

now you are gone

your soft beard grazing

gently across my face

remains, as I

dabble in the sunlight

tricking myself

all is just as it is supposed to be

it’s lonely here and,

even as the sun burns, the interior

lives in darkness

light no longer enters

as the cold wind whips and twists through the

crevasse of my heart

I sit in your void

the whole world keeps moving

I will wait

Love the last three lines especially...
this feels like it could be a poem to a father...
reminds me of mine...

you have a way of slapping our minds ever so gently...and waking up our emotions.
