A Beautiful Mess

A Beautiful Mess

A Poem by KWP
"

It’s been a while

"

A Beautiful Mess

a rainbow of experience

equals life

beginning with empty slate

we build blocks to

bring experience

bring life

and it’s a beautiful mess

to sit back and and observe

the rise, the fall, the cycles of

existence

to remain equanimous

stuff happens, stuff breaks, life hurts

this beautiful mess

hands held forward

offers gifts

little treasure if insight

can become little treasures of light

if we allow it

and this beautiful mess

shakes us, breaks us,

knocks us down

screams us to acknowledge

the innate knowledge

we all share …

spoon-fed information

will never allow our own thought

How will we ever resonate backwards to

the original mustard seed?

I am in love with this

Beautiful Mess

I like this. Life is a mess but it's also beautiful. We have to take the good with the bad,and when we can, turn bad into something beautiful.
Beautifully written.

Your poem doesn't actually SAY this, but it brings to mind the reason people are not doing a very good job of embracing the mess this world is in . . . JUDGMENT. Humans are rife with the urge to judge every little thing under a microscope, whereas "letting go" requires that we take a few steps back so our perspectives can take in much more about all the ways things happen. There are good aspects & bad aspects to everything, but it seems people are too bent on selling their viewpoint to have a discussion about anything. It's all shove-it-down-everyone's-throats, a harshly bifurcated way of seeing everything. I sit on the sidelines & read these epic political arguments scroll between friends & I honestly can see both sides. I can even appreciate the messy process of these friends trying to tell their side while seemingly not listening to anyone else's side. At least we're free. At least we can have these discussions. At least the basic goodness within most of us allow people to come back together as friends after vicious arguments (sometimes). If anything, these trying times have taught us to be better fighters. I love this poem becuz I'm in love with the whole damn mess & I only hope we defeat Trump becuz he's a bad person, but otherwise, I kinda understand the people who support him (many Trump-supporters among my friends becuz I live in an agricultural area). Sorry for going off. The sign of a great poem is me going off! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

A journey of rolling hills and plains. Storms and sunshine. A great reminder to keep your feet on the ground. I like it.

ahhh thank Gabster:)
Life is messy
For some people that could be beautiful
For others - anything moving away from idealism - is ugly
I love your take on this concept !

Perhaps we create our own rainbows, make what we want of life> Seems your words infer that what we do, what we see, how we feel is how bright or dim our view of life is. Which the pessimist, which the optimist

I wonder, do our rainbows shine brighter and clearer when our mood is good, hopeful.. or the reverse if what's around us, knocks down intention? Food for thought here, and, thank you so much for it.

So hope life is treating you and family, kindly, and safely.

"innate knowledge/ we all share" I love that kind of s**t.

This is technically a poorly written poem with more than an error or two... but,

that's not why we read each other.

Your my favorite writer here.
