Untangle

there’s a darkness in

this entanglement, and

this entanglement 

is life

which way should one tread 

how to cut the path so the 

light shines through

like being lost in a dense jungle 

sun finds peepholes 

to let us know 

there is a way 

first we must untangle 

unburden of the unworthy 

unfetter this complex mind

find a simple path 

stick, stick, stuck to it 

do not diverge 

keep in mind the goal

stay the path

all roads lead home 

they say to take the middle road 

it’s untangled

did you fall off your path?

well, get back on

there’s time enough 

once you ask yourself 

truly,

which direction you wish to head

it is yours for the taking 

if you

stick, stick, stuck to it 

a release -

there’s a lightness to 

untangling 

up and beyond

Even tho your msg is about untangling, the way your poem FEELS is like the tangling aspects increase as we read on. There seems to be a mounting frenetic pace which is emphasized by a bit of well-placed repetition, so that the delivery & the message seem to be at odds. It's like someone saying "I'm OK" but clearly they are spinning out of control. I agree that being tangled up is a curse & one nice thing about getting old is that my mind cannot process complex anymore, so I've had to simplify! *wink! wink!* Fondly, Margie

Life is complicated and if it wasn't we would lead boring lives and be alone. Sure, there are entanglements, but isn't that what living life is all about? The trick is untangling the knots that give us stress and then making sure they do not get tangled again. Good write. Lydi**

Entanglement is unavoidable. What you choose to entangle yourself with is the key to not being or living like a total fucktarded a*s clown.

A lot of people think that material success or social attention or intellectual respect is what validates a person's self worth. But they fail to realize that those are just byproducts of being confident in your own skin... they are not pre-requisites, but neither are they things to ignore.

To some degree we are all too cowardly to fully base our life on that however. Some can do it better than others but most of us are vanity projects in one way or another. Those who are unwillingly to admit that are usually the most empty, false or ego-fragile underneath. I don't trust those who just move on with a "smile"... they are always the most fraudulent and adept at hiding something we would otherwise call disgusting. There's a reason why the catholic church got away with mass child molestation for as long as they did. They were very good at the whole... just move on with a "smile" type of reasoning.

Have you read that book 'an unfettered mind' its a bud book - but it talks about disentanglement - it's the ultimate freedom :) hard to achieve, yes, but to stay the path is the first step.

hey you - of course. there is enough time - why did I read just recently - it was a Ram Dass quote - something like everything that lives will die, everything that dies will be born again - he than went on to ask - so why are humans so afraid of dying?

This has always been an inherent knowledge flow of mine ... it just makes sense ... the constant flow ... if I don't meet yo win this river, I will surely meet you somewhere out there in the next.

well ... that is the main difference in the teachings of Jesus Christ ... true enough our physical self will cycle ... our soul may be another story however ;) we make the mistake of thinking "judgement" when it comes to death ... i think it is a reckoning ... an inability to deny the truth .. and if we run .... well ... pity wouldn't it be ... so frightened by the Light when it is Love ... but ..we shall see eh!? we all must die ... ;) didn't mean to start a theological discussion ma'am .. :) love on ya! its Christmas Day!!!! where I met other people and learned that there were material things to strive for

I retired I had all the material things I wanted and

Good spiritual advice here. First we must "untangle" from the complexities of our modern lives. Having done this, we then must find " a simple path" and stick to it until we find the thing we seek. "All roads lead home." A poem to be read when the going gets tough.
