We are what we are. Too many of us try so hard to be something they aren't that they bury the thing that they are. It's hard to be yourself all the time and sometimes it does lead to ruin but at least you get the chance to go out fighting, burning down in your own way. Fake people disgust me... and that's going to be 90% of everyone you meet. Obviously, I have no friends. hahaha

I have no time for fake - not a fan of tour groups or small talk either.

Anyway's how are you? I did some excellent mountain biking yesterday - down Vulcan Chimborazo - came off once on the deep sand and gravel - no injuries though - excellent fun. the wind in your ears as you zip down at speed - raining incredibly focussed while all the time trying to find the best possible track - my brain got bounced around loads ... it still hurts.

I am in the same time zone as you noe me thinks.

Sounds like some extreme biking. Things like that are always a much better experience when the risk of injury is a little higher than usual. Don't kill yourself though.

I'd down in Ecuador - just hanging about really. Off to Quito tomorrow - I'm gonna try my best not to get robbed- ten hearing some interesting stories come out of that city. Then flying over to the Amazon for a week before heading to Columbia where there will be a mixture between sun, sand and another kick-a*s trek up to above 4500mtrs. Then through Bogota and back home - bugger it.

Such an extraordinary truth. But, surely in knowing and being wrapped in those words, all else follows? Plus, and forgive me perhaps for adding this.. surely living with those words, we forgive those that cannot, will not, might never alter. Sharing the real, the true is the greatest gift.. Perhaps.

I believe these words are profound and very true. I know we good folks should hold out hope that one so wicked as he might return to a straight path, stop putting himself first, and serve the people. (ALL the people, not just his base) That said, it looks like that tiger will never change it's stripes. My fear is that he will burn down the entire world in order to save his own sorry hide. God help us all--I cannot breathe easy until he is gone from power.

Another poem where I'm reading in a bifurcated way. One part of me wants to say "YEAH! You GO woman!" Your points are so strongly & clearly stated, you infuse the reader with a sense of righteous indignation. But the other part of my mind is rejecting this message becuz it's stated in a tone & passion that is the antithesis of the kind of "LOVE" which the narrator demands from the "other" in this poem. I don't think this is a downfall of the poem. I love your msg. It's so authentic. Humans do this all the time. We set standards for others that we do not even realize we are not living up to ourselves. Mostly, tho, I just loved how passionately you grind out your very sharp points (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

:) I understand the point you are making - none of us are yet perfect - I do however believe here are the warriors in life, sent here to protect and serve, in this protection and service they themselves are always at risk of taking many hits - but they themselves operate with the highest moral regard to life, so sometimes if they have to move in swiftly, which may seem damaging to to some, they risk that, not just for themselves, but more so for others, to bring the negative back to a balance or positive - that's just the way the world works.

Someone has to be the first to stand up for those who are too weak r not in a position to stand up for themsleves.

and it matters to them...only the giving part...not what they can get from it.
i had a certain person in mind reading this...and that part of my heart that forgives...does hope she will find it in the end.
made me think of a Cat Stevens' song...with his line "you missed the point, you missed the point, you really missed the point"
she was about what she could get from it, not what she could give to it.
