the inherent

the inherent

A Poem by KWP
"

written for my friend who is moving back to Turkey to live

"

when we tune in to all that is right

in the world

we get to see life sparkle

when we listen with hearts open

we connect with all of humanity

when we walk with purpose

we discover our own

when we look within

we can understand what’s out

when we love with abandon

sometimes we get hurt

but,

we must still love

with abandon

there are lessons there

worth exploring

when we share all that is good within us

we have the opportunity

to make the world a better place

quietly listen to your soul

for you are

all of the above - and more

I love you

'.. when we look within - we can understand what’s out .. .. when we love with abandon - sometimes we get hurt - but, - we must still love.. '

Whatever happens in life, in relationships.. surely there must be a dot of memory that says, ''This is why a preciousness happened in the first place.. it was special. appreciated, treasured, loved. Can't be erased or drowned out, surely.' Must not.

You've written so gently here, placed your very own brand of emotion in the slow, calm mood you use at its best, its finest. Here we visit and stay a while, inhaling, using.. remembering. Thank you for the soft nudge of 'never forget', dear friend... seer of hearts and words.. smiling.

Truth and wisdom in a few poetic lines. These lines are particularly instructive...

"when we love with abandon
sometimes we get hurt
but,
we must still love
with abandon"

It's a matter-of-fact statement that leaves no uncertainty for the reader, and it should not. If we're hurt 99 times, we must still try the 100th time. It's what we do as humans, as you've captured in your final line.

Intentions play a big part in filling in the pieces of life's puzzles. Looking for the best parts of ourselves and others unfolds the picture. This is really good, K. :)

i took it as mine KWP! what uplifting encouragement to find peace and joy and share it ... i especially like the first couplet ... easy to think it is much more complicated than that ... your friend is very lucky to have your poem to take to back to Turkey .. yes! very fortunate

This is so heartfelt, it moves a reader to ponder the deep affection spilling from this friendship. You use the pronoun "we" and this makes your inspirational advice feel inclusive, lessons we are all working on continually. We each must create our reality, wherever we are dropped in life & you've shown the most important details of how this can unfold (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Mm wise words
When we give our hearts to another we DO get hurt
But the experience leaves something behind to make us stronger

An honest poem which states, yes, we can get hurt but we must not let it hold us back. Very uplifting, asking us to seek the best within us. Refreshing, considering all of the woe is me stuff we see on this site.
