Star Gazers Know Their Place

Star Gazers Know Their Place

A Poem by KWP

with outstretched arms

I welcome

time passing

life,

this life

offers twist, turns, scenarios

star gazers

know their place, so

don’t look upon me

perched high upon a pedestal

welcoming this life -

a rigorous wallow through

every last breath

my purpose

without regret

or neglect

I have learnt to

inhabit every inhale, and

the gift each brings

to cherish the exhale

perhaps witnessing

lessons lived

this abundant reality

consisting of you, me,

the Everywhen

is all I ever needed

upon nightfall,

I shall once again

search the stars

to find you

If you're not already a Rilo Kiley fan it's time you start.

This is one of your betters... it reads like a waterfall. I'm never going to agree with 100% of your philosophy but sometimes, when you write like this, I can understand and find my own way through feeling more enlightened at the end than I did at the start.

this probably isn't the first time I've tried to goad you into listening to a little Rilo Kiley, but this song in particular... should be something you wanna listen to.

Life is this one big mystery ... and maybe when this soul sits in love
somethings come to light
others drift away
i see in your words this search for the soul through union
Its quite touching!

This is exquisite & I love every single word & phrase & nuance. I love the attitude in the title phrase, the kind of phrase we all wish we'd thought of! Overall this message shows the mixed feelings of being under a night canopy, pondering life, what's good & bad, what's here & what's missing. This is a perfect rendition to show how the mind hopscotches thru thoughts & observations when stargazing (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

'.. to cherish the exhale - perhaps witnessing - lessons lived.. ' How true, how beautiful.

Life in the heavens and 'pon Earth is the magic Man will never fabricate! To shut the senses from it is an insult to everything in which air resides, dances, feeds and keeps us alive - detritus and all. You've implied as much, seemingly sure that out there is faith and passion in equal amounts. That Everywhen is offered to those who see it for what it is. To see it is to understand; to be blind to it ignores its inspiration. It's a gift that can't be bettered... ever. Love is its core, above, below, everywhere. Your words are far fewer than mine but say so much more.. they are earth magic.

its you and me baby! ;))))))))))))))))) really like this "a rigorous wallow..." now tha's one heck of an attitude to live by says i! wallows are abundant .. might as well by rigorous about them .. and i see your wonderful themes of breathing and the everywhen ... they are refreshed in "Star Gazers Know Their Place" .. i just love your beauty that you place on your pages KWP .. its .... well .... beautiful!

someone may be out there, and we may look for that person...but the smartest thing is to accept the life we have right here on earth and make the most of it...as your poem says "cherish the exhale...witnessing lessons lived"
but nightfall is for dreams isn't it?
