Sparingly Is Not Life

Sparingly Is Not Life

A Poem by KWP

unrequited flood of love

sparingly you dose yours like

an under-flavoured cordial

the sweetness of life

derives not from your lavish gifts with a price tag

try, if you will, the understanding of

unique viewpoint of man

lament a while, for

she observes life her own

extravagant realm

- ah, how delightful! she owns it

what a gift to see the diversity of thought

sibling to sibling

man to woman

country and culture

we are all ballerina’s

spinning wildly on our own trajectories

it’s all marvellous, my friend

marvellous to join this

synchrodestiny with you

I agree dear Poet.
"unrequited flood of love
sparingly you dose yours like
an under-flavoured cordial"
Life should allow us to enjoy and be greedy sometimes. Wonderful use of words my friend.

'Sparingly is Not life'
KWP,
I found myself in a place of questioning my own view of what is important and how does this soul interpret what is viewed as special, precious, important...where and why to rejoice in something. Oh, I want to find the pure acceptance in the day to day and not be blind to what may be staring me in the face. Friction and difficulty try to fog up this vision when later I say, "Oh my that was so good for me."
"We are all ballerinas
spinning wildly on our own trajectories
It's all marvelous, my friend
marvelous to join this (snchrondestiny)..Love this word!
with you.

This seems so different from what I've read before, simply because I'm reading your poem after. long time.
love it as usual, you are a breath of fresh air just like this piece.
Hope you're doing well.

In dizzying spins, your poem encourages the heady all-in experience we imagine to be "falling in love" (or "going for it" in life) . . . if it's lukewarm, forget it! I particularly love the opening with sparse dosing . . . great caustic way to describe how some are meager with their affections or their enthusiasm. I've always had a hard time with people who can't embrace a thing or a person wholeheartedly! (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

' ..what a gift to see the diversity of thought .. '

We walk in our own shadows, longing to mix and match others' ? Read twice, might read again, catching your drift, leaning into anothers' space, returning to own but having walked a new glistening path, joyfully shared like a rolling stone gathering more than moment's momentum. Inhale! Your finely set words jump reality but - finish with imaginative partial full stops, my beworded well friend!

I believe the poem is making a comment on the different ways individuals, sexes, groups, etc., view things. Verse 1 contains a funny simile about the often divergent ways men and women show affection, a theme continued in the next two verses. The poet is not making this observation in a critical way, however. She appreciates the breadth of human diversity, sees us all sharing a "synchrodestiny." I think I'll try this philosophy on my wife the next time she gets on my case about something. Well done.
