allow me to shine

for when I am at my zenith

I slid, I fell 

my perch was too proud 

with so much still to learn 

my face met with mud 

I dishevelled

with a pain in my gut

I know there is a lesson here

i read this as a prayer...a glimpse of the Divine can do some very challenging things to us mortals ... and truly we are only "allowed" such sights of wonder .. as certainly they are not "attained" by works ... this is a smart position to take says i ... let me shine one more time so "you" can shine the more ...by George I think she's got it ;) let me know if this works ok!? if i can muster the courage i may give it a go me self

I think poems like this always spring from an inner dialogue. Which is a good thing.

Unselfish or selfish... love must always come from yourself first or you can't really give anyone anything true.

I think the drugs you had tapped in and yes you nailed it - although it was a very basic read admittedly. And yeah of course inner dialogue ... the best poems come from inner dialogue no? Why are you awake at odd hours these days?

reviewing basic poetry is my specialty (i'm kinda lazy).

And I'm always awake at weird hours. I never really sleep more than two hours at a time. However, the real reason I'm on the cafe has more to do with me being lazy (i'm supposed to be running up hills right now)
