Flux Of Change

Flux Of Change

A Poem by KWP

breath by breath
moment to moment a living mantra
encapsulating life in a serial motion

but…
it’s good to remember
nothing lasts forever

the bright morning glow of the
rising sun behind the clouds
golden outline of the fading ambrosial

lingering in the kiss
allowing the fall much deeper
unanchoring emotions
like the waves to your storm

lengthening the embrace
connecting the heartbeat
knowing the other
like the moon to the sky

grasping each now
as the stars shine and die
it’s good to remember
nothing lasts forever

gripping at life
all smiles, all tears
entrenching this time
love at ground level

relinquishing all
accepting the emptiness to
dance in eternity

it’s good to remember
nothing lasts forever….

I love the reiteration of the theme, “nothing lasts forever”, and your symbolism and rhythm are impeccable. Very well done!

the "Flux of Change" ... there is a harshness that grates the false need we have to cling to things ;} but your poem reads like a love poem ... L3 for me is an incredible thing to ponder .. "..encapsulating ....serial motion" i love it ma'am!
the joke seems to be on me as in reading i realize that the old adage, "the only thing that is permanent is change" ... doesn't really hold true does it ... or does it???? does the "eternal moment" end ??? :))
but this is a lover's poem ..too many of your lines enchant me ..and clinging to one another in gracious appreciation is not a bad thing after all is it ;)))))))))))) hugs KWP ...for a poem to read over and over ...

You give us the key to happiness heheh :)
Lovely poem...
If only brain started working in the correct time instead of heart taking over we would remember those lines that nothing remains same and change is only constant thing in life....and if sadness maybe tommorw will bring us a bag of joy and then a bottle of tears....never ending story.... :)

Hahaha that seem lost somewhere.... ;) the bloody gap.... love that usage...
It really is good to remember that nothing last's forever. It keeps us in the moment, it helps us realize what's important.

Dichotomy is a hallmark of nature. Love/hate, cold/hot, starving/satiated.... etc., etc.. (the stars really do die... we are made of their remnants)

Obviously I'm going to fall in love with this poem. It smells kinda like me and I'm a total narcissist.
