Sponge of Heartache

Sponge of Heartache

A Poem by KWP

To ease your pain

keep it for myself

take away your hurt

I would ….

But everyman’s journey in the flesh

surrounded by millions of suffering hearts

is always taken alone

Allow my companionship

we can walk together a while

I will be here when you falter

Cry your tears

bathe in grief

emotions too need daily ablutions

To understand the wrenching pull

the one present in anguish at the base of your belly

your inner, outer

keeping you in unbalanced balance

To erect no walls,

as hard as it is

to embrace the heartache which

every life entails

When you know it is time

- there will come a time

keep the affection, then

remember to release the

pinning heavyweight

even this pain can dance in eternity again

Holy s**t woman! This is so beautiful, I can’t even… I hope you have someone like this in your life. :-) This is the first work of yours I’ve read, and it’s so very impactful to me. I might just go perform an introspective ablution of my own soul right now

Good! Your write, touched me. Thanks for that.
If the good things were truly easy and never hurt to get to they wouldn't be wonderful.

Walls and ceilings are counterproductive. We just need a floor to lift ourselfs up from, and then dance upon. Like similarly learned idiots without a care in the world... that to me is paradise.

I always find my own good things in your writings... I love and hate that.

Believe me, I do try and look for reasons to tear you down... I do that with everything, myself included. But there's something about you that I identify with even though we are pretty much oppo. You're no fun in that sense... but a quality intellect none the less.

God damn Kangaroo people... Australians are awesome.

the "pinning heavyweight"

life is lonely sport...we do it ourselves. Others may sympathize or empathize with us...but in the end, we are alone in the journey---we fight our own rounds in the middle of the ring---we can't take the trainers and the cut people with us. It is our life, our battle to get through the best we can.

those are some wholesome, lofty ideals and aspirations aren't they KW!? a good friend once told me her idea on suffering in the world..and how it can seem so c**k eyed and unfair ... she said the human beings collectively make mistakes ... a huge pile of them .. and so collectively we share the pain and sorrow and loss that accompany those "mistakes" .. i thought that was pretty cool .. and so is your poem .. its a call to pick up the cross .. and your protagonist is wholeheartedly willing ... something that is probably a bit rare ;) love your stuff ... as always dahlink!
