That Smell Of A Candle Just Gone Out

That Smell Of A Candle Just Gone Out

A Poem by KWP

half light

is all I offer in a life

lived inside the void

take your fill

my candle wanes

soon swallowed by

demise

FULLY AWAKE

only in

Snippets

Snatches

until

dense air

pins me

I used to fight until exhaustion

I’ve learnt now

fighting is not a requirement

it’s easier this way

half light

is what I offer

living inside my own void

basking in the sun

never I road I took

in this half life

my candle wanes

I wait patently

to drown
