Come As You Are

are you so spotless 

as you present yourself?

or have you left room for 

dirt and sin?

in a world of reflection 

we are the sparkle 

we are the shine

so bright 

even for sunglasses

cracks and crevasses 

ignored not explored

shunned not accepted

life is everywhere 

to celebrate perceived shortcomings 

to bathe in damnation 

to lick, taste, immorality

to upend guilt 

to lavish ungodliness (did she just say that?) YES!

to transgress by graduation 

to know the guts, 

the bowels of life

allow passage of passing 

and finally sit to the sunset in 

the everywhen 

come as you are 

all welcome

I read something interesting about the differences between tragedy and evil a couple days ago. I've been seeing the debate underlie almost everything I've read lately. Tragedy and evil may have precisely identical outcomes... but one is a necessary aspect of life and the other is a unnecessary aspect of human consciousness meant to create pain and suffering for the sake of pain and suffering. Those who refuse to acknowledge just how crucial tragedy is to our concept of meaning and it's role in the natural world are not fully alive or aware in my eyes... I actually think they are fundamentally immature no matter how old or seemingly responsible they appear to be.

We are all individuals and we are all the same. We must be who we are, and we must remember not to judge others because we don't understand them because there are those that won't understand us.
