This was an astounding, my friend! I was taken in not only by the treck itself but equally by your gifted ability to recount the day to day experience that each of you endured. I found myself engrossed as you words transcended into the documentary footage that flickered in my mind...in 3D of course! I found myself reaching for my extreme cold weather gear thinking back on my tour in Germany as we trekked up a few mountain sides, but of course never attempted a climb like what you and yours accomplished. Kudos...and I'm sure the memory of it all made each and every moment of pain, ache, and misery worth the experience of seeing those majestic mountain-scapes! Not to mention getting to know the Sherpas. Did you consider trying to submit this to a 'travel' magazine for publication? Never too late...recapturing this fabulous family adventure, by means of your gifted ability to write, plus the photos should be an easy sell! Thanks everso much for taking the time to trek on over to my blog. I do appreciate it. It was a truly magnificent adventure to have as a family. After Nepal we headed down through India (my favorite country) and that was certainly an eye opener for my boys, but kudos to them, they took it all in their stride.

Oh hello Rinzin - thank you so much for taking the time to check out our adventures :) I have not yet visited Bhutan but itis a destination high up on my travel list - are you from Bhutan? We have looked into going a couple of times but as yet I do not think tourists can travel without a legal guide and it is very expensive to get a daily visa ... do not fear - we shall go one day XXX

incredible! some of the pics and details are new to me ..your adventure centered on family and all your new friends and culture stands foremost ..even in all that beauty in nature .. says a lot KW!
I think I have seen that air port in a documentary of the most dangerous .. is the approach between two mountains, very short runway and treacherous cross winds? ... if so landing there for me would be adventure enough :} glad you have shared this!

yes thats the airport - you come around one mountain and then have to do a hard sharp right turn for the descent onto the runway - all kinds of unhappy alarms sound in the tiny plane ... the pilots are amazing .. thanks for reading E ...means a lot to me XxXX mwah XX

Very nice writing. I will have to complete it later. My brain says I need to be in the right frame of mind for longer pieces so I can stay focused. This was a bit more than a poem and I was not able to complete it. I will go back later and read more. Thanks for a great adventure story.
