OPPRESSION

OPPRESSION

A Poem by KWP
"

.... just thinking about life and what annoys the crap out of me big time ....

"

Oppressor: “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others.”

Oppressed: Whatever do you mean? We are all equal on this earth, we must learn to live together.

Oppressor: There must be the rule makes to keep some semblance of order. We are those rule makers, you will from now on do I we say.

Oppressed: But we refuse. It’s not fair. Why should you get to make the rules? We should all be free to exist and flourish.

Oppressor: You will do as we say.

Oppressed: Those who oppress us are taking away our basic rights to freedom. We will not accept this, we will fight, for if we do not fight you will continue on granting yourselves more and more power as we remain the ugly second cousins being thrown the scraps from the dinner table. We choose to fight against you. Our lives are no longer measured with the same respect as yours.

It is basic human nature to fight for justice. The oppressed fight back. The oppressors begin to fear loss of control and power. The oppressors fight back with fire claiming those who are oppressed are those who are the trouble makers. And the rest of the world are blind as sheep, scared as a drowning child and weak as an old man on his last life-breaths - but because the oppressors have power enough to deceive and blind the masses, the masses follow on without question - blindly.

When one begins to question the validity of their own life as well as the validity of others we see the way forward. THE ONLY WAY FORWARD - is in LOVE and PEACE. We can continue on the same cycle of oppression, making excuses to overpower and hate, but in this cycle we will never find resolve.

This simple life arithmetic is not hard, and we humans we believe we are an intelligent race, yet we still can’t figure out the math. Take the time to do the workings, with self, then others, and we can surely change the face of the planet.

Humanity I love you and will not give up, I just ask for you to join fight for what we all have in our hearts - LOVE - and we mustn’t reserve it for just a few, it must be readily available for everyone. Act now for the love of future generations.

KWP, this is different than I have read while reviewing. Its an interesting write and I enjoyed the read very much so. I must say I am for the underdog so the oppressed has by backing (no surprise). Thank you for sharing a read request. I get so many and I do my best to read them as soon as I can. Here is something I wrote I think you can appreciate it goes with this piece I believe.

"If you have peace of mind, what else should you ask for? Or should you ask for?"

Usually if you have peace of mind you also have love in your heart.

This is an awesome write. The oppressed do fight back when they can gather believers for the purpose. And you are right... the oppressors do fear losing their power and when they fear that they usually strike with more rules, take away more freedom so they can have a level of comfort in their control. Good write my friend :)

Good luck with your request. Nicely written and humanity is often it's own worst enemy. This is different and I like it. Fun piece yet sad when you look at the failures of the human species that seem to be unable to get along and have fought over a piece of dirt for 1,000's of years. The humans come and go, but the dirt stays on, not caring who owns or walks on it. Thanks for a thought provoking piece.

Very well written KWP. There is a strong message which is involved in this piece. The idea behind this work can be applied to protests and revolutions which happened and are happening in the world. It is unfortunate that even in the era of democracy where the people are the kings of the country, class distinctions exist between the haves and the have nots. The haves misuse their positions to oppress those who have elected them. Loved the message embedded in this work. Keep writing more :)

go to it Aussie girl, a great message for the world, from the beginning in 'Animal Farm' one of my favourite books you pull us to the understanding that we must love each other to really be equal and forward motion for this world is only through love which will beget peace, its really a very simple message given to us over time by many great prophets (of course distorted by those who seek power and money) but it still rings out in the world and today Elizabeth you have joined those prophets and added your voice here because its written and can't be taken away, you lead us from Christ to Orwell the choice has to be Christ and love, great work Lizzie babe, love it is from me to you XXXXX
