What is Love Anyway?

.... conversations ....

why do you choose to love?

in the hope of receiving a little back?

oh ......

but i’m not so sure that’s how it works 

love is like an ocean

when we are children 

it is enormous 

quite challenging 

and so we learn to

swim 

navigate the waves 

go further 

but still 

we fear the ocean may hurt us 

the depth 

the unknown

the uncertainty 

love holds 

no responsibility 

love is responsibility 

love is your innermost longing

love is your essence 

if you know this love 

you can enter the ocean 

swim 

deep and far 

without fear 

become courageous 

enveloped 

as you know 

there is nothing to fear 

because love is 

boundless 

love is one 

you are the love 

you always were

Beautifully written KWP. Love is indeed boundless and deep like an ocean. The more you give the more you wish to get back but giving without expecting in return is the true quality of love. Its simple yet very deep-seated. :)

"Love holds... no responsibility.. love is responsibility... " Yes, love's itself a big responsibility that's meant to be treated with honor. A kid or child (the children) can never judge the volume of the ocean (an ocean of love), what all he (they do) does know is how to jump off into its fathoms / depth... without worrying or caring of what's hidden inside its bottom / at the base of that deepen ocean that may or may not be a cause of uncertainties. Nice imagery you've come up with. You always dissolve your feelings in words.. with your poetic art. Well written!
