Quits

Quits

A Poem by KWP
"

relationship with self

"

When did we decide to call it quits?

It must have happened -

For this life in me I cannot remember.

Who was it that made the call to separate?

It could not have been me for I can only remember

Your everlasting gush of love?

Was it you who created the division?

I cannot believe it was for it was you who taught me

We are one.

You are with me always

even in our separation

You never leave

and still -

we cannot be together

You guide me and show me

tiny aspects of

what it means to live

Yet -

your arms aren't always open

You tease me unwittingly

begging me to return

to where

we both once stood

together

You know the journey

shall be long

for I have much to learn

before I can

let it all go - - -

to finally

see the all

to

be the all

to

bathe in depths

of truth

letting more of you

into me

and me into you

as beingness

prevails once more

Once split - its never the same. No amount of spiritual or transcendental glue will ever make good. The scar thickens and can cause total dividing in places. Some places can be joined as if they were never torn but in the main we never feel 'ourselves' again. Life is the knife and Life is the chopping board and Life is the kitchen and we try to find our place but we are just meat in Life at times.
I liked this introspective poem K.

YVW - thank you K :))
The confrontation between 'me and myself' never ends. Soul is always there and always ready to help us. It's just that we cannot reach it, and sometimes intentionally. We're thirsty, we have the river, but we seek for something else...

I enjoyed your poem.

Very kind words Roshan and thank you XX
Stunning...the journey of self is often contradictory and paved with many opposites, beautifully poised love, I really love this xo

Hey, Kelly Chick xoxo
Love is found in each & every one of us.

I may say with experience that .. at first, we ain`t know the value of love, but with time, we come to know even the 'price' of love as well. So, it`s quiet deep to understand what loves bless us with. Very nice poetry!

Oh I do that all the time :-) xx
I haven't quite seen a poem quite like this before.
Writing to ones self, talking about how a part of you is kind of giving up, and the other of you is being the strong inspiration part, saying when did we decide to give up? to call it quits.
At Least that's what I think the whole meaning to this piece was lol.
This was kind of a strong inspiring, motivational piece. Also deep and meaningful.
I enjoyed reading it :)

This is such a controlled fall of words, yet touched by a hurt and bewilderment that's more than clear. There's no begging, no apparent antagonism but thoughts needing to be answered. You write very honestly and succinctly..

' of truth letting more of you into me and me into you .. as beingness prevails once more ..'

i like "as beingness/ prevails once more"
seems in first line it might read "decide"---smoother...

whether with another or ourselves...it is often hard to remember exactly when and who caused the break ups...

Oh Lord KWP the last two writings have been so enticing! On the one had I would feel like writing a dissertation here but that would defeat the point as it is the writing which is what we are here for. From that perspective it is always a great tool to embrace the reader with a question because it sends him /her back in, great start right there. As I said then after that the concept through theme takes over. Admitedly an internal dialogue were the main chracters invite are the I, the higher self , The lower selves. The dynamic is all based in questions surely if I don't touch upon the someone will.

I will pass the batton to maxims of the Rabbis:

"If I am not for myself, who will be for me? But if I am only for myself, who am I? If not now, when?" Ethics of the Fathers, 1:14.

Great thoughts!

Thank you
