I remember my grandpa as fierce on the outside, (but it was just an act,) he was a lovely man and I loved him so. Grandma wasn't so much scary, as just sort of detached and efficient. They made a good team, that 'balance of souls of sorts' you describe.
love it Elizabeth, the start is almost a nursery rhyme, the second part pulls it together into a life of two lovers, their marriage and subsequent happiness, the lesson of life judgement not included, the goal is enough, remarkable writing :)
This to me a continuation of our conversations KWP somehow you seem like a seeker always trying to question what's in front of you and then maybe not intentionally compare it to human nature that could be yours or anyone elses. In this case what in the volumes and volumes of books of inner development being pSychology or Philosophy or anything in between denominated as positive and negative. The writing tries to invite the acceptance that both coexist and that there seems to be no point in associating oneself with thenotion that if you get rid of one side the other would conquer so to speak. Whichever your preference might be. Intriguing as usual. But your desire for answers is enthusiastic.
Thankyou

this poem was just a little ditty I wrote this morning as a distraction from editing my novel - I started out with the best intentions of writing just that - a ditty - but then as usual my strong moral codes that I continually enforce upon myself crept up and said - 'yeah but what the point?'
hahaha - I am trying to loose the conflict - ahhhh one day ....
opposites attract, and balance each other out...others say, "how can they be so different?"
but underneath it all, auntie maisy is full of love....tough love maybe, but tough, nonetheless.
i like the balance of souls...we need more balance in this world.

i really like your writings, whether you are playing or serious.
A lovely tribute to Aunt Daisy and Uncle Tom. I learned my best relationship lessons from my Gran and grandfather; my poem, "Walk On, Walk On" is a tribute to them. I think my current happy relationship is due in large part to the lessons I learned from watch those two. They were such opposites, yet fit together so well. I remember them taking me to the mall and walking around holding hands and stealing rather chaste little kisses. As a teenager, I thought it was totally gross -- naturally -- for an elderly couple to behave like that! But, now, I look back fondly and feel blessed to have been witness to such moments.
