Keeping my heart in a wooden box,

take a look at it every day,

watching pieces fall to the floor

sweet girl? more like stinky witch,

your eyes are red, teeth so green,

lips that dribble, ears that twitch

you tried to cast your wicked spell 

to curse my body, my life 

thankful i learned your wicked ways 

never took you for a wife 

gonna boil your head in a cauldron

and chop you into bits,

bake your cold heart in a witchy pie

but I might just keep your tits

Cos my daddy used to order 

A pair of tits on toast 
Drizzled with sweet honey
I'll enjoy suckling them the most

Wow I love the fierce and to an extent violent response of a heartbreak. And I like the part in the beginning when you say 'take a look at it every day' because that's what all people who's heartbroken do - they look back at their glamorous days and long to relieve them. So I think the dramatic resort to violence and leaving behind the relationship is very fresh and fun. The only thing about the poem is using 'gonna'. Is it intentional? Because I think it kind of betrays the genre 'Poem', it feels more like lyrics rather than a poem. Anyway great work. I've had fun :D

hey thanks for your thoughts and I have thought about gonna and I think it is ok because in context this angry man has many crazy thoughts running through his head ... he has to chop, cut and boil, add some spices I suppose, I imagine there would be quite a mess, and whatever will he do with her head ... no ... he doesn't have time to thing about expanding gonna to going to :) ... hehehe ... cheers for reading and have a wonderful day xx

i like this...and beneath the humor there is that age old ploy---
the more i cut you down the less i miss you.

you weren't worth it anyway is the attitude that lets us feel better about the loss.

but deep down...the scent of heartbreak is still overwhelming, no matter how much we cover it up.
