30 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge

30 Day Bikram Yoga Challenge

A Poem by KWP
"

I think all of us should do this challenge, it allows meditation time, relax time, toning time, and you time.. It was a hard challenge but worth every moment :)

"

Thirty days of Bikram Yoga
A Challenge worthy of the task
Ninety minutes each day - forty degrees
'How was it?' People ask

Start out with such conviction
Find the depth within the pose
Staying focused on my being
Watching sweat run down my nose

First few days filled with excitement
'I'm on the challenge I do cheer!'
Ninety minutes growing longer
Thirty days no longer feels so near

The aches they start to set in
Especially round my butt
'Come on guys  go deeper!
Don't forget to hold in your gut.'

A myriad of teachers
Each day offering  their wise words
This way, that way, pull it back
Repeat twice just too be heard

Casting off of ego
Not watching others skill
Concentrating on one's self
Redefining our strong will

Slowly understanding
What matters here is me
Finding stillness in the moment
Reclaiming clarity

Day after day I come back
Returning once again
Learning to become friends
With the aches and the pain

One day someone vomits
On another a wave goodbye
Every pose for thirty days
'No excuses' - that's why

Feeling quite euphoric
Next day expectant of the ease
Brings my ego back in check
I feel pain head down to my knees

My body starts to tone
I can see it in my waist
Energy creating energy
Positivity is I can taste

Enjoying all the quiet time
Time just set aside for me
Deeper deeper I tell myself
Get you forehead past your knee!

The end so very near
I shall miss the challenge once it's passed
I will keep yoga in my life now
It is a goodness meant to last

'30 day Bikran Yoga Challenge'
KWP,
Oh, this was so great to take in! It must of done you so much good to allow yourself a time of focus toward health of body and mind. A whole month set aside to this experience would be good for all of us. I really appreciated the step by step description of what it was like to go through this experience.
Sweet words:
'Enjoying all the quiet time
Time just set aside for me
Deeper deeper I tell myself
Get your forehead past your knee!

The end so very near
I shall miss the challenge once it's passe
I will deep yoga in my life now
It is a goodness meant to last.'
Blessings,
Kathy
