Single Tear

Single Tear

A Poem by KWP
"

a poem of acceptance

"
a single tear
rolls down my cheek
thinking of you
in goodbyes

parting ways
i dared not speak
darkness
offers brand new light

nothing shall
remain the same
connection is
so brief

together riding
along the plane
never venturing
underneath

we pushed we tried
with all our might
both knowing
all was lost

a single moment
was our plight
love given
at no cost

as the tear
is swept away
within the gentle
evening air

acknowledging
the lessons taught
stripping my
soul to bare

'Single Tear,
KWP,
This was a beautiful poem of 'knowing.' I suppose process within a relationship comes to a single moment when a truth is seen. If it is the end and becomes apparent then even a second in time can become real and their is no going back. This particular poem is very focused in its reality of this context. I really like how you made a point within the feelings and responses of the two within this poem coming down to a final conclusion. Great work!
Blessings,
Kathy

Beautiful..me and my weirdness saw this as not just a tear drop but a love lost. Fighting and hanging on with all you can and then finally accepting that it has run its course ! Swiping the tear away as you learn from your lesson!! Brilliant and loved reading this one!!

thank you lovely one - I am delighted you read and enjoyed - take care X
I think the title says more than any of the poem's lines.

That's not so much a criticism of the poem, but more like praise for the imagery a single word can create.

On a personal level, I would have liked to have seen this poem stripped a little further until only the original space that spawned it remained.

In anycase, nice job Harlequin.

It was, I noticed.
Sometimes I wonder
how right-a-mess
I'ld be ...too.

Great write here. To encapsulate so much into an idea as small as a tear drop, that's excellent. The emotion is strong in this piece. The pain tearing through the heart. You conveyed that well. Thanks for writing!
