Did you ever stop and wonder...

just a wee ditty pondering teeneee aspects of life...

Have you ever stopped to wonder,
Just how far you would have to run.
If you jumped upon a sunbeam,
Then headed for the sun.

Did you ever give much thought,
To rolling down that hill,
You know the one that Jack climbed,
Fetching water with young Jill.

Did you ever stop and ponder,
Why penguins don't have flight?
How are they to escape,
The Polar Bears at night?

And if you were a lady beetle,
Flying through the trees.
Would you prefer those colors,
To that of a bumble bee?

If you were a truth seeker
Would you bare a warriors heart?
To fight for ultimate goodness,
Right from the very start.

What if your lived your life
As an anonymous tree?
Big, small, old or tall,
Which would you prefer to be?

Can you even imagine
Travelling as a cloud,
Replenishing earth's cycle,
Round and round and round.

Did you ever stop to think,
Just where your rubbish goes?
Not giving it a second thought...
Perhaps it's time to know.

Can you imagine for an instant,
A quick life as a bubble,
Trying to just float away,
You bump and your'e in trouble.

Did you ever stop to think,
Is there some small thing you can change?
Just to see it out in the world,
More love in a rearrange.

Can you even bare to think,
If we had not invented fun,
We would all be a bunch of sad sacks,
All gloomy and all glum.

To me the cream upon the cake,
Is the fact that we invented money.
How bout I give you three loaves of bread,
In return for love and honey.

It is a funny little world,
We funny humans have created.
Remember it is with our thoughts,
That these connections are all related.

I only ask if you choose to think,
Ask if your intentions are real good,
Then all of us can start to feel -
Love the way we ought and should

Every stanza is a little pearl and the whole poem is like a dazzling necklace.

Let me say I truly needed this whimsical ditty today!! Its sweet and funny and it does make you think. Not saying that I dont, because my problem has always been I can't turn off my noggin. Lol... but you know sometimes we focus so much on the bad and sad that we forger the wonder of things around us. We forget the joy of "child like" thinking. Just imagining the smallest details of the world around us. Like watching a caterpillar inch along a tree branch and noticing how the sun glistens on the fuzz of its coat. Or the feel of fresh green grass on bare feet. Or doing some small gesture for another...just because.

This is a wonderful poem...it puts things in perspective without preaching. Reminding us to never stop thinking and imagining. ;-)

I can't turn of my noggin generally either ... but I have learnt that instead of resisting the thoughts it can be easier to allow them and observe them, the let them flow on in their merry way.... thanks for reading sunshine x x

Who am I to compare to your writing skills. You have done it again! Nicely done the way you have mixed into the carefree and funny pictures of your poem the small criticism of how society and everyone in it has become less loving and less caring the way we act and see. So who am I to jugde your writing when all of it is good. However you know that spelling mistake "your'e" is a wee bit annoying for me eye. But you have done it again love.
