The Better Man

The Better Man

A Poem by KWP
"

Simple words - for truth seekers.

"
To be the better man
Acknowledge intentions of truth
Observing life just as it is
Strength to follow the path through

Understanding from within
If your ego tips the wrong way
In learning and reflection
Offer your warrior soul to play

To be the better man
Wanting no gratification
Seeing the heart of life's purpose
Reconnecting simple elation

Rising one's self
High above the storm
Seeing ahead into calm
As the wisdoms take form

To be the better man
Not attaching one's self
Letting go all emotion
Not doting on wealth

To act with pure kindness
In the knowing you can
Helping less fortunate
Being the better man

Understanding the ethics
Universally old
Walking the talk
With the honour you hold

To be the better man
A life of balance, restraint
Wanting of nothing
Your heart is not there to taint

To be the better man
Your virtues are many
With a warriors heart
You are open to any

Living moment to moment
For others not you
Giving up wanting
Let the better man shine through

To be the better man
Comes making the decision
Just be a better you
Each day with precision

I apologise as the better man
Offers no material gain
You may feel your heart become lighter
Releasing you from all suffering and pain

It's for you, you know
No-one else can measure
A better man in this world
In return, lightness and pleasure

Better man what a title and what a writing again, ever subject of yours is different but you write from soul and heart. I think the better man who ever he is must be very lucky to have support of you. No one has such a deep soul who can sense things on such a distance. Just loved it/

"The Better Man"
KWP,
This poem of yours affirmed true worth of a person. How nice to have an opportunity for pondering this jewel.
Our inner being is free, free to simply be; to give just because and love just because.
You are right in the theme of lightness of heart that comes in this motivation.
You've done it! Affirmation of good and how bad can be crushed.
Blessings,
Kathy

to follow this path and become the more enlightened man is no simple task but the benefits of losing desire and wanting the material that is the true path of life, separation from ego desires brings inner peace, if your writing were to read worldwide we may begin a movement towards that peace, thank you Elizabeth :)

A thought filled writing ! Wih elegance and conviction as it goes step by step trying to let us know what does it make "to e a better man". Independently if the reader arrives to the conclusion that if indeed he/ she accepts that then the becoming of a better man is achievable as I admit to have questioned the embracing nature of the writing. The intentions behind it. Superseed that of the intellectual nature of any of my questions. Indeed if we could entertain becoming a better man one may be forced to wonder, how different the world we live could be.

Great thoughts here

Thankyou
