"The Changing Man"

When Daniel Edgar was a boy
His father brought to him no joy
Abusive, mean, downright bad
Scared the life out of the poor lad
He joined the Army to get away far
An incident there, his future did mar
Begins a fresh, meets his wife
Daniel's enjoying a happy life
An enemy from his past comes back
Sending Daniel down the wrong track
His life spirals out of control, so fast
Will his happy marriage last?
From model citizen to master crim
A life of crime is just not him
Full of twists and turns this book
I hope that you will take a look
Redemption is what he is after
Will he find some joy and laughter
Or will he be for ever doomed
Full of guilt, self hate consumed
This is a peak inside my debut
If you think this book is for you
Available now on Amazon - how great
If you like it, tell a mate

Your poem is a compelling summary of your debut book, which sounds like a thrilling and emotional story of redemption and second chances. The way that you describe Daniel's past and present - "abusive, mean, downright bad" to "enjoying a happy life" - is a testament to the power of hope and change, and the way that his past comes back to haunt him is a reminder that our actions have consequences. The line "redemption is what he is after" is particularly poignant, as it suggests that Daniel is someone who is seeking to make amends for his past mistakes and find a new path forward. Overall, I think your poem is a great advertisement for your book, and I hope that many people will read it and find inspiration in its message of hope and resilience.
