Oh how I love to engorge

Myself in your musical history

Cheeky lads from Liverpool

Met and formed a band at school

Paul and John both lost their mothers

Formed a bond, strong like brothers

Much to their surprise, delight

Everyone loved them all on sight

Loved their songs, they could relate

Instant fame was their fate

Went to America and won them round

The Americans loved their sound

Their suits, their charm and their wit

To screaming fans, on stage they lit

Went to a bootleg beatles show'

All different ages were there you know

All singing the songs, loving it all

I caught a musical tribute to John, where different musicians came together to celebrate what would have been his 75th birthday. The talent each of them had collectively as well as individually was simply phenomenal. Their impact on the music industry still reverberates today. How wonderful to see their indelible imprint here, in the world of poetry!

This is a great tribute to the Fab Four. I was one of the lucky ones who saw them on the Jack Paar show a few months before they went on Ed Sullivan. I really flipped out over them, and was the first kid at my school to comb my hair like theirs. To this day, I love their music.
