Autumn

Autumn

yearning for autumn

"AUTUMN"
This summer's been hot and long
Should not complain, seems so wrong
I'm sick of the heat and these sticky nights
Sweating buckets and midgey bites
Summer dresses, sandals and creams
Jumpers and warm socks fill my dreams
Autumn days are on my mind
Only ones of a certain kind
Falling leaves of orange and green
Every year like eyes just seen
The beauty of an autumn day
Where nature's best is on display
Crisp, cold air, clean and dry
While sun still shines up in the sky
Crunching on leaves as we walk
Vigour in our step as we talk
Summer crowds have gone away
Leaving space to enjoy the way
Nights come in quicker now
Don't have to sweat your brow
Cosy jammies, hot chocolate drinks
Sharing movies, laughs and winks
Big duvets, comfy throws
Listen as the wind does blow
Autumn how I love your colours

Your review of my poem gave me a chance to look at your work
Like your style, a bit like mine, easy to understand
I have an autumn effort waiting in the wings also. I guess it is time to ease along
Summer has been much too hot with too many problems
good work
