The Dog

The Dog

A Poem by KT-B
"

A dog decides to go on an adventure, through the trees and in the sea, where he makes friends with a shark!

"

"The Dog"

The dog had been left home all day

he thought "I have to get away"

So left through a window left ajar

He thought he wouldn't go too far

He ran down the path, panting with glee

There was such a lot to see

He chased a cat for a mile or so

Tail wagging with happy glow

He headed for the park so green

So many trees, he'd ever seen

Lots of dogs to sniff in there

Running about without a care

Back on the street, ran down the road

Starting to feel a sense of forebode

Not recognising where he is now

Oh no he'd get an awful row

Saw a pathway to a beach

now his house is out of reach

 sea was choppy, looked inviting

That was the final sighting

The dog was spotted going into the sea

But never made it home for tea

Should have stayed at home instead

Think the dog is surely dead

:(

Months later the dog was found

had been taken to the pound

Apparently it was after dark

Taken in by a friendly shark

:)

Really liked this. Could really place myself in the scene but could sense it wasn't going to be all frolics
