"A Poem a Day"

A poem a day

Keeps writer's block at bay

Give the old brain a kick

Stops me from being thick

Tho some may argue with that

Nonsense words and chat

Made an oath to write everyday

Sometimes got nothing to say

Sit here, see what comes out

Re-read "what's that all about"?

Forgive me my friends if it's crap

but words don't fall out a tap

Isn't it strange to feel the need

To grow poems like a seed

Why do it at all

Set yourself up for a fall

I'll never know why

I'll write until I die

but I will
