Dog or Cat?

My kid is going to be a teen

there's nothing she's seen,

that she'd like for a gift.

It's causing a rift,

I know she'd love a pet

 her Dad is not set.

I tried to persuade

a cat called Sinead?

 A dog wee & quiet

Not causing a riot?

What about the mess?

Allergy, don't you care less?

 You haven't thought this through,

It's typical of you

He shot me down in flames,

how about board games?

Or a new desk and chair?

No dog or cat hair

to clean up that way

End of, I've had my say!

I guess I'm beat

I'll admit my defeat

be sad for a while

it made me smile

thinking of the loving creature

that would've become a feature

in my lonely life, now the kids have grown

least I got my brother's dog on loan

So a desk and chair will take it's place

Thoughts of pets, I must erase
