"The Old Me"

The old me was treated like s**t

I have to admit it hurt a bit

The old me would come back for more

I would never slam the door

The new me has more self esteem

Where you are the milk, I am the cream

I've been thinking things through

and I am so much better than you

The old me would belittle myself

It wasn't great for my mental health

I've realised I've been so dumb

the way you act, has left me numb

This ain't love, you don't care

Of that much, I am so aware

From now on, I come first

So go on, do your worst

You won't affect me, no not at all

You are the one, that's bound to fall

and when you do, I won't be there

Cos now I'm the one who doesn't care

It feels so good, this new me

Being kind to myself, for the first time you see

I've neglected myself, for the likes of you

goodbye to the old, hello to the new
