"for Tracey"

It's cruel to watch your sad demise

Tears fall unabashedly from our eyes

You fought a brave fight, won, then lost

The reality grips our hearts, like frost

Trying to hold on, but you're fading fast

in so much pain, how long can you last

 

It's cruel to want you not to go

when in our hearts we already know

nothing on earth can save you now

we can only pray and wipe your brow

and thank the lord for the short time we had

Leaving behind your parents, brothers, broken and sad

Your daughters too, in tender years

Who will allay their hopes and fears

Not for you to worry my dear

Never wanting to go, that much is clear

Trust that they will grow strong together

hold you in their hearts forever and ever

May your soul sore to the heavens above

and be surrounded by angels, in heavenly love

free from this earth's hellish pain

you will be with our loving father again

your life here on earth has come to an end

leaving behind broken hearts, slow to mend

It's terrible it used to be 1 in 3 likely to get the dreaded C but now it's 1 in 2 - scary statistics... it's so cruel, know too many young people taken too soon - just as well we don't know what's round the corner = :(
