Sweet SixteenA Poem by KT-Ba poem about a poor kid"Sweet Sixteen" Sweet 16 I never knew you at all But now everyone does and will always recall Your name on the radio, your face on the news So pretty and sweet, you gave me the blues When I heard how at a party, you took a drug I don't know who gave you it, perhaps a thug Or maybe you were just in to that sort of thing It made you more confident, made you sing Now your just an example to other kids your age Don't go down that road, take a leave out that page Look what happened to that poor wee lass You know the one? She was in your class So I tell my kids don't touch drugs, promise? I promised my Dad never to smoke, with a kiss Yet I did anyway, think was smoking even then When I promised so sincerely, what a lying hen I can't bear to think of your poor families grief Death came and took you like an evil thief No age at all, just a child still lot's to see but now so sadly a child you will always be Sleep with the angels God Bless ********** © 2016 KT-BFeatured Review
