80s music

80s music

The 80s weren't that great I've said in the past

the fashions were awful but the music was a blast

Boy George when he came out, got everyone's heid scratchin

Is it a girl or a boy his clothes and make up matchin

then came Madonna "who's that girl"

got everyone dancing at discos giving it a twirl

Thompson twins, duran duran and the human league

bands like madness and the specials, to me did intrique

Bananarama, fun boy three David Bowie too

INXS, Cyndi Lauper, Sprinsteen and U2

Can't leave this poem without mentioning The Jam

Paul Weller now the Modfather I'm their biggest fan

and ofcourse there's Queen, Freddy what a guy

when he died I'm sure I wasn't the only soul to cry

Alison Moyet, flying pickets, groups like Aha

Adam and the Ants and Blondie even enthral your da

The Police, tears for fears sang about a world that's mad

Looking back on it now the 80s weren't bad
