KinghornA Poem by KT-BChildhood memories of summer holidays."Kinghorn" Oh little place by the sea the memories you arouse in me that fresh sea smell the yellow beach and our own home town just out of reach the excitement we felt just driving there singing songs without a care all crammed into to Dad's wee car we thought we were going far but we were only 50 miles away to us it seemed to take all day in the wee house we'd all unpack mum immediately made a snack but before she could say "there's your tea" we'd all be in bathers and into the sea jumping waves with my sister Jo singing my bonny lies over the ocean you know then my brothers would duck us nearly drowning always laughing and never frowning later we'd spend a pound in the arcade then down to the hotel for a lemonade nothing too fancy as money was tight then straight to bed, don't let the bugs bite mum would save all her tins of food to make sure and feed all of her brood endless days of summer fun was had me and my family, mum and dad when I go back there with my own kids today I can still see my mother clear as day standing at the doorway with her rolling pin shouting "teas on the table" now get yourselves in XXXX © 2016 KT-BAuthor's Note
