"A mother's Love"

"A mother's Love"

A Poem by KT-B
"

This is a tribute to my mother Ferne who was such a wonderful lady and sorely missed after a very short battle with cancer.

"

"A mother's love"

Wrapped in the arms of security and love

This woman was sent from heaven above

Warm and serene in her peaceful embrace

Love every detail of her beautiful face

Never quick to anger, graceful and good

Supplying love to seven, satisfies like food

Never had a favourite, she swears to us all

Loved each of us equally as I can recall

Gave her life to us, never sought new things

Never cared for clothes, for pearls or new rings

Wasn't greedy for success, was happy to be Mum

Never seemed fed up, never appeared to be glum

Selfish little children demanding all the time

Did not dissuade her, even in her prime

Gladly gave to everyone, no word of complaint

You may call me biased, my mum was a saint

Happily married to Dad for fifty years or more

The love they had was real, my Dad she did adore

Thank you Mum for all you gave, like you there is few

I know there's no-one in the world compares to you

I'm glad you found something in the end to call your own

you worked dam hard to qualify but I never heard you moan

Even still the skill you learned was how to heal others

but no-one but you would qualify for being the mother of all mothers

love you, miss you, God bless wherever you are

tonight when I look out the window you'll be the brightest star

God Bless

KTBradley,
"A mother's Love" Your shining heartfelt tribute is just honest and forthcoming. The thing I like about this is just how your mother is described as a basic good person who worked, loved, gave and sacrificed. Aren't these attributes which truly are remembered in the end
A few lines I liked in particular; "Never quick to anger, graceful and good." and "wasn't greedy for success, was happy to be mum." and this is so big; "Selfish little children, demanding all the time- did not dissuade her, even in her prime."
There is much more here that is golden. Your poignant image of your dear mother reminds me of my mama Betty Catherine. Now my parents are both in their 80s and I just am so blessed to have them and to love them.
Thanks again for your poem. Kathy

Always the hated word, cancer. But in your own words, you've brought her back. Great tribute.

Ah, this is a beautiful tribute to your mum. Luckily mine is still alive and kicking, had a few close calls, but she's a tough old bird. Hopefully get many more years with her in my life.

Your poem relates to my mom very much, her dedication and determination to provide us something good in this life even when our situations were tough to handle... You wrote this with details and very heartfelt words which speaks of your mother so well and gives us an idea about her character and what kind of a life she went through and still stayed strong in her will... I am sorry for your loss, but I'm very happy to read your kind words of love for her... A very gentle and heartfelt work...

Sincerely
Dhiman
