A tribute to my father and best friend who I miss every day.

"He inspires me still"

I'm ready to go I've got my perfume on

but your quite late and I begin to yawn

I think of you whilst I wait, as I look longingly past the gate

Your security itself, your loving and kind

Your total fascination, an ever questioning mind

Knowledge and wisdom is mind blowing

Energy, creativity and talent is flowing

Your eyes are the windows of your being

Brilliant blue flashes when insights your seeing

I feel dumb in your company and not worthy of you

When listening to your stories, your point of view

Your understanding nature, your humanitarian ways

Have long since instilled in me God's great rays

You're a hero, a legend, an inspiring soul

To be like you is my only goal

So I wait for you Dad with my perfume on

But I know in my heart you've already gone

So I'll love you from afar and think of you above

You left me with a legacy of knowledge and love

This is a tribute to my Dad who was the most intelligent human being ever, sadly he passed away a good while now but he is still very sorely missed.

i am sorry you have lost your Dad .. I have four children and if knowledge and love are the only things i could pass on to them it would be so much more than enough .. your sentiments are heart warming and sad .. so well done says i! a tribute i'm sure puts a smile on his face

"He inspires me still" was a thoughtful, heartfelt and fitting tribute to a father which is irreplaceable. I know how you feel. I have a dad which is wonderful, intelligent and still a mystery all rolled up in one.Your poem challenged me. Isn't that what we need after all? Your memories and thoughts will keep him alive in your soul. I really found the "perfume" idea so very special. It was an idea that said I want to be and feel special because of you (your papa.)Our parents place the fragrance of love in our lives. Hopefully we can say that. Thanks for your lovely words about this, very special poem to me. When I was a wee girl, my Dad would take me for ice-cream so I would always dash to put a spray of perfume on, I was only about 5 - lucky I had my Dad til I was 32 - I'm glad you have a Dad who's just as wonderful - treasure him, I'm sure you do - :))

Priceless!!! This is a priceless write... You really made your father alive through words of love and admiration for him... This poem holds a picture of your father in front of the reader about how truly great he was, this is absolutely kind and heartfelt tribute to him... Even though I never knew what I a father's love but I can imagine how deeply he loved you... I know he will be smiling reading this write with happy tears in his eyes...

Thank you for taking the time to read and review my poem about my Dad who was a total inspiration. He was ill with emphysema most of my childhood so I worried about losing him on a daily basis from a young age, luckily he was still here to meet my son Sean but sadly passed away when I was expecting my second child and didn't get to meet her. He was such a bright spark and despite being very ill always had a wonderful sense of humour and was interested in everything which made him seem younger than he was - thanks again for your review obviously this poem means a lot to me and I appreciate your kind wordsl.
