Heart HolderA Poem by K. Sikes
Oh, Heart Holder,
you do not know the poison laced agony you cause that feels so divine. You wake me up, Heart Holder. You shut me down. My body tingles when near your scent, my eyes drown when they sense your pain. My purpose is filled by filling the air next to you. My will is stunned by your coldness. I knew no chains like this before, I'll know none after. Should there be one? I do not know. Though I believe you do know, and I believe you do not. For even when I deserve most to resent you, I ache for your predicament. So take your time, and choose wisely, Heart Holder. For my affection is yours to keep. Until you relinquish ownership. Then I would have no choice, though I want nothing less, but to find something more, and fill the void next to the one you'll always leave.
