AshesA Poem by K. SikesI hold so much love yet there is not a soul who can Receive my love. It is not that they can't, but that they won't. My love is but a milestone to something more. I cradle their hearts between my teeth. Yet when they set my love to fire, I cannot bare to bite down. Instead, I release their idle hearts and concede to the form they chose for me. And that is ash. Fret not. I will rise again. Damaged, no less. But radiant of love as was before. Only now I claim that to be wiser. "I have learned my mistakes." I assure. And perhaps I had. But with only time I return to ash.
