Things I love about you

I love that you take care of yourself.

I love that you make time for me.

I love that you have clear boundaries.

I love that you want reciprocity.

I'm thankful that you do the things I like to do - like walking in the cold - even when they aren't your favourite things to do.

I am glad that you are happy on your own.

I like hearing about your goals; sports, health, investments.

I'm happy we share activities; tennis, dinners, drinking port.

I value your realism, honesty and conversation.  

I worry that I am too much drama right now.

I fear that our lives won't grow together.

I feel alone when we don't see each other for over a week.

I'm sometimes distracted when we talk on the phone.

My insecurities seem to grow in contrast to your discipline.

I am not thin.

I am not pretty.

I am out of control.

But then I see you, we are together and you hug me, you greet my dog, and your energy fills me.

We share our day, a meal, some wine.

And we talk without filter.

We are gentle.

We go to bed and I love watching you, being near you, touching you.

I want to bring tears to your eyes.

I want to see you smile.

Are you happy?

Are you fulfilled?

What are you afraid of?  

What makes you mad or sad?

What do you think about while you are doing a puzzle?

What part do I play?

I ask because I want you to know that I might love you if only I could get out of my way.
