Replacement

Replacement

A Poem by KS Tahn

She's new, it's exciting, I'm sure.  Not a whiff of the old - you're not leaving the couch, the unkept beard that you would suck on, the ripped t-shirts, the despair.
Why could I not be new?  Why could I not be valued?  Why didn't you try?
Too much hurt.  Too much pain.  Too much resentment.
Your could have at least tried.  Really tried.  Listened, heard, maybe even changed.
But she gets all of that.
For now.
Until you hurt.  Until you are angry.  Until you blame.
And then it's back to the old again.
