Counting 7-8-9-4A Poem by K.S.78Counting 7-8-9-4 K.S. 6/11/13
Why do we take time for granted? Taking seventy-eight days instead of minutes. We both want to love each other, still we separate slowly away from the term us. Waking up remembering to sleeping and forgetting.
We keep the beat of our hearts to ourselves. No longer do I get to touch you. But still, you count the beats of others. It seems it takes nine tries, to get you to stop.
Your soft tone is inviting. I take ninety four more looks before I decide. Tonight it will just be the planets orbiting. You haven’t noticed I stopped spinning. I need you to start speaking start telling.
Saying hello like we are just meeting. Pretending I have not felt your love in my soul. Circling around and going back down. Except that I can still remember your shape inside me. Praying we both go down the drain rusting. © 2013 K.S.78Featured Review
