Crying for a Memory

Crying for a Memory

A Poem by Alex P.
"

Sometimes people change...

"

I’m not crying for you now,

You’re no longer worth the tears,

There’s a difference in you,

As swift as possession,

But there’s no chant to save you

I'm crying for the one I remember,

The one whose smile still haunts me,

My every dreaming and waking moment,

For the one who took me into his arms,

And promised never to hurt me or leave me,

Who told me that he loved me,

With such conviction in his eyes,

That it brought tears to mine.

The one who made me really believe

That I was beautiful without makeup,

The one who made me confident in myself

Happy with my life as I had never been before

I'm crying for a memory, nothing more.
