Pretty WordsA Poem by Alex P.This is the last poem I write that will ever be about you. I've finally found someone who truly loves me. You're nothing but a memorySome say words are extensions of the soul I don’t believe that Words can be moulded into lies They can kindle false hope And create illusions more elaborate than any dream
I used to believe your pretty words, Thought they meant you loved me It wasn’t until after you shattered the façade, That I realised they were just words
This is the last poem I will ever write you, Your lies will haunt me no more I can’t let them, If I ever want to completely be over you
Because of you I am scarred, I don’t think the wounds you inflicted Will ever properly heal But, at least now, I have more than simple, mouldable, fake Pretty words
