Faceless SwarmA Poem by Alex P.
I had myself trained, you know, To notice whenever you walked by To smile, To wave, To even turn and walk with you To recognize that you weren’t like the others But now, After everything, Though I still notice, We pass by one another, Uncaring Though I know you see me too It’s becoming easier to ignore you, Because you’ve blended in again Become another of the faceless, At best, A memory, One which I do not want to surface, So I desensitize myself to you And now, You’re just one with the swarm © 2010 Alex P. |
