My Dark Prince

My Dark Prince

A Poem by Alex P.

Someday my prince will come,

Fairytale fantasies and childhood dreams

Handsome young men upon noble steeds,

Ready at your beckon to perform noble deeds

But my prince isn’t like that,

Oh, but it doesn’t show,

What lurks in his dreams,

Is something only I will know

My prince is a ghoulish one,

Smooth skin as pale as death,

The very sight of him steals my breath

Though when others look upon them,

The sight seems to make them go undone

With stave in hand,

His reign will be sweet,

With taint and corruption,

And festering meat

With teeming undead,

Willing slaves,

Rising in thousands,

From beyond the grave

Why is he like this?

Why has he become so depraved?

His faith in humanity lost,

The horrors of life he hath braved

My darkest desire,

My wicked Prince,

Who tells me things his mind does conspire,

I’ve wanted little more since

The rhyming falls off at the end, I know. I should really just stick to freestyle. Regardless, tell me what you think.
